Time to go…Oregon FACE of LWML!!!
Proclaiming our God, expressing our trust and
engaging our service!!
Yes!! By God’s Grace we met our convention goal at our 2010
OR District LWML Convention at Eagle Crest on June 11-13…. To
be assured that our Lord is the everlasting God Creator who renews
our strength and lifts us on wings like eagles to do His will to His
glory.
There were inspiring worship services led by our Proclaimer, Rev.
Paul Linnemann, our Northwest District President, assisted by OR
LWML District Counselor, Rev. Daniel Faragalli, host congregation
pastors, Rev. Bob Luinstra and Rev. David Carnahan and numerous
other LCMS Pastors from around Oregon which included many
encouragements from God’s Word.
Two dynamic Bible Studies presented by Rev. Patrick Lovejoy from St.
Matthew, Port Angeles, WA challenged and inspired us also as we
studied Isaiah 40.
The Mission Fair supplied abundant opportunities to carry out our
LWML pledge of willing service as we put to use our hands and feet
in His service. What a joy to see that enormous room bustling with
committed and consecrated women!
And that wasn’t all!! Our joy continued throughout the convention
with joyful singing, Scripture and Prayers, setting our grants for
the new biennium, electing officers, changing bylaws, meeting new
YWRs and teens, enjoying and praising our Lord through magnificent
banners, being challenged by Cynthia Khan (our Keynote mission
speaker) about ministry to Muslims, hearing Deaconess Sylvia Johnson
energize us with being the “Face of LWML”, thanking God for our
great nation, honoring our past District presidents, beginning to
plan for conventions in Peoria 2011 and our 2012 Oregon convention
and so much more excitement!
And now it is TIME TO GO!! as Pastor Faragalli challenged us
in the Sending Service. On we go as we carry on our convention
objectives into our daily life:
PROCLAIM OUR GOD. EXPRESS OUR TRUST. ENGAGE OUR
SERVICE.
